Within a family, check named exceptions. Normcore says its 53.3 mm dosing cup does not fit the Barista Express Impress,[6] while Breville lists its own 54 mm funnel for that machine.[2] Where a listing names machine models, match yours.
The magnet catch
Both picks are magnetic, by the sellers' description. A magnet holds only on a metal it can grip, so hold a fridge magnet to your portafilter's rim before you order. If it does not stick, a magnetic funnel will sit loose, and you will need to hold it while you grind and stir. Profitec also sells a magnetic 58 mm funnel and, like ECM with its 58 mm funnel, lists no compatible machines.[5][4]

A funnel touches only dry grounds, but we found no food-contact documentation on either listing. If that matters to you, ask the seller for documentation before you order; buying and safety explains what that documentation means.

Does a 54 mm dosing funnel fit the Breville Bambino?
Normcore lists a 54 mm funnel for the Bambino and Bambino Plus. Breville's own 54 mm funnel lists only the Barista Express, Express Impress, Pro, Touch and Touch Impress, so check that the funnel seats on your portafilter's rim.[1][2]
Why order a 54 mm funnel when my tamper is 53.3 mm?
A funnel sits on the portafilter rim, while a tamper has to fit inside the basket. Normcore pairs a 54 mm funnel with a 53.3 mm tamper for Breville's 54 mm machines.[1]
Do magnetic dosing funnels hold on every portafilter?
Only on a rim the magnets can grip. Profitec's magnetic 58 mm funnel, like ECM's 58 mm funnel, lists no compatible machines, so test your rim with a fridge magnet first.[5][4]
