Short answer
Breville's Bambino, Bambino Plus, Barista Express, Express Impress, Barista Pro, Barista Touch and Touch Impress all use a 54 mm portafilter. For tools that go inside the basket, buy about 53.3 mm, not 54 mm: Normcore lists 53.3 mm tampers and puck screens for the Bambino and Barista Express, Pro and Touch, and IMS's Breville baskets call for a 53 or 53.4 mm tamper. Dosing funnels sit on the rim and are sold as 54 mm. Check the two Impress models separately: no source we checked gives their tool sizes, and Normcore's 53.3 mm dosing cup does not fit the Express Impress.
What they share
- Portafilter
- 54 mm[1][2][3]Breville's product pages for the Bambino and Bambino Plus, and its spare portafilter SP0027237 for the Barista Express, Express Impress, Pro, Touch and Touch Impress.
- Tamper size
- About 53.3 mm[4][5][6]Accessory makers' sizes, not Breville's: Normcore lists 53.3 mm for the Bambino, Bambino Plus and Barista Express, Pro and Touch, and IMS's 54 mm Breville baskets list a 53 or 53.4 mm tamper. Breville calls its own Barista Express tamper 54 mm, the nominal size. No source names the Impress models.
- Puck screen size
- About 53.3 mm[4]Normcore's size for its own screens, listed for the Bambino, Bambino Plus and Barista Express, Pro and Touch. The Impress models are not named.
- Dosing funnel
- 54 mm[7][4]Breville's own 54 mm funnel (BEA201) lists the five Barista models; Normcore lists a 54 mm funnel for the Bambino and Bambino Plus.
- Group / system
- Breville 54 mm group[8]IMS makes its 54 mm baskets (B62.5) and shower screens (BV200) for the 54 mm group heads of the Barista Express, Bambino, Pro and Touch.
- Bottomless portafilters
- Not confirmedNo Breville source we checked covers a bottomless portafilter for these machines. Buy a listing that names your model: the locking ears decide fit, not the diameter.
Watch out for
- Do not buy a 54 mm tamper because the portafilter is called 54 mm. Breville's 54 mm is the nominal size; precision tools for these baskets are about 53.3 mm.
- Breville sells two different 54 mm spare portafilters: SP0024799 for the Bambino Plus and SP0027237 for the five Barista models. Neither lists the original Bambino (BES450).
- Breville's own 54 mm dosing funnel lists the Barista models but not the Bambino or Bambino Plus.
- Normcore says its 53.3 mm dosing cup is not compatible with the Barista Express Impress or similar models, so a 53.3 mm accessory that fits one Breville may not fit another.
- Breville also makes 58 mm machines (the Dual Boiler and Oracle Touch). A listing that says only 'for Breville' could mean either size.

Questions
Why does a Breville 54 mm portafilter take a 53.3 mm tamper?
A tamper has to slide into the basket, so it is made a little smaller than the basket's inside diameter. IMS's Breville baskets measure 54 mm inside and list a 53 or 53.4 mm tamper, and Normcore designs its 53.3 mm tamper for 54 mm baskets.[6][5]
Do Bambino accessories fit the Barista Express?
Tool sizes match: Breville gives both a 54 mm portafilter, and Normcore lists the same 53.3 mm tamper and screen and 54 mm funnel for both. Spare portafilters differ, though: Breville lists SP0024799 for the Bambino Plus and SP0027237 for the Barista models.[1][9][4][10][3]
Do these accessories fit the Breville Dual Boiler or Oracle Touch?
No. Those two use a 58 mm portafilter, so they need 58 mm tools; see Breville 58 mm machines.[11][12]
