A bottomless portafilter has to lock into your machine's group, and that depends on its locking ears, not on the basket size. Both listings below sell variants named for specific machines or ear counts, from the brands' official stores. Order the variant named for your model; if your model is not named, ask the seller before you buy.
Best for Breville owners
IKAPE bottomless portafilter (51/54/58 mm, machine-specific)
Pick it if: Barista Express, Pro and Touch owners; also Breville 58 mm, Gaggia and De'Longhi EC9xxx machines
- Why it's here
- Variants are named for Breville 54 mm and 58 mm machines, Gaggia, E61 / La Marzocco groups and three De'Longhi fittings, so you choose by machine rather than by diameter. Sold by IKAPE's official store.
- Watch out
- Machine fit is the seller's claim. The Breville 54 mm variant does not say whether it covers the Bambino as well as the Barista models, which use different Breville spare parts.

Alternative for E61 machines
kisshome bottomless portafilter (51/54/58 mm)
Pick it if: Machines whose maker calls the group an E61, and De'Longhi owners who know their ear count
- Why it's here
- Stainless variants named by group or ear count: 58 mm E61, 58 mm Nuova Simonelli, 54 mm three-ear and 51 mm two- or three-ear, from kisshome's official store.
- Watch out
- No variant is named for Breville or Gaggia; the 54 and 51 mm options are named only by ear count. The listing also sells a 53 mm tamper, so check you have selected the portafilter.

Which variant fits your machine
The second column is what the machine maker says, or a retailer where noted. The variant names are the sellers'; bold marks the variant we would order.
| Your machine | What the maker says | IKAPE variant | kisshome variant |

Breville 54 mm. Breville sells two different 54 mm spare portafilters: SP0027237 for the Barista Express, Express Impress, Pro, Touch and Touch Impress, and SP0024799, which lists only the Bambino Plus.[1][4] IKAPE's "54 mm, Breville" variant does not say which machines it covers, so if you own a Bambino or Bambino Plus, confirm with the seller first. Model pages: Barista Express, Bambino.
De'Longhi. A retailer's listing for De'Longhi's own 51 mm bottomless portafilter, the DLSC085, names the EC9155, EC9255, EC9335, EC9355, EC9455, EC9555, EC9665, EC9865, EC9885, EC900 and EC950; the Dedica EC685 and EC885 are not on it.[6] De'Longhi's own pages do not show this list, so treat it as the retailer's. IKAPE labels one variant for De'Longhi EC9xxx models: check that your model code fits, and ask the seller if in doubt. For a Dedica, count the ears on your current portafilter and order the matching two-ear or three-ear variant.
E61. Order an E61 variant only if your machine's maker calls the group an E61. ECM describes its brew group as a further development of the E61,[10] while Profitec calls the GO 2.0's group a ring brew group[11] and Lelit names its groups LELIT58 or L58E.[13]
How we chose
- Variants named by machine or ear count, not only by diameter.
- Sold by the brand's official store: IKAPE Official Store and kisshome Official Store. IKAPE also sells bottomless portafilters on its own site.[17]
- Stainless steel bodies (the sellers' description), sold separately from the tampers and other add-ons in the same listings.
- Checked on 2026-10-06 with US shipping. Fit to your machine is the seller's claim; we have not tried these on machines.
Skip these if
- Your machine came with one. Profitec ships the GO 2.0 with a bottomless portafilter,[11] and Lelit includes a LELIT58 bottomless filterholder with the Bianca.[12]
- Your model is not named and the seller cannot confirm it.
- You own a Rancilio Silvia or a Lelit 58 mm machine. Neither listing names a variant for their groups.
- You expect better taste from the portafilter alone. We found no evidence that removing the spouts changes flavor; its value is letting you see how the shot flows. The baskets and portafilters overview covers what does change extraction.
If a new portafilter will not lock in, or locks at an odd angle, stop and see why a portafilter won't lock rather than forcing it.
Questions
Will a 58 mm bottomless portafilter fit any 58 mm espresso machine?
No. The locking ears are a separate fit from the basket size. Profitec, for example, calls the GO 2.0's group a ring brew group rather than an E61. Order the variant named for your machine, and ask the seller if yours is not listed.[11]
Which De'Longhi models does De'Longhi's own bottomless portafilter fit?
A retailer's listing for the 51 mm DLSC085 names La Specialista and Dedica Maestro models such as the EC9155, EC9335 and EC9665; the Dedica EC685 and EC885 are not on it. De'Longhi's own pages do not show the list.[6]
Does the Bambino take the same portafilter as the Barista Express?
Both are 54 mm, but Breville sells them under different spare part numbers: SP0027237 for the Barista Express family and SP0024799, which lists only the Bambino Plus. Ask the seller before assuming one 54 mm variant fits both.[1][4][2]
How do I know how many ears my portafilter has?
Look at the top rim of the portafilter you have now. The ears are the tabs that slide into the group head as you turn the handle; count them and order the variant with the same number.
Does a bottomless portafilter make better espresso?
We found no evidence that removing the spouts changes flavor by itself. Its value is visibility: you can watch the shot form and spot uneven flow, which points you to distribution or tamping problems.
